Body Therapies

Body therapies are now more common practice in today's society as people are going back to their ancestors proven and tested health remedies

LASER ACUPUNCTURE

WHO IS PRACTICING?

Laser acupuncture is practiced widely throughout Europe and Asia. Laser Acupuncture and Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) are also becoming very popular treatment options for practitioners in North America due to their completely painless application and most importantly – consistently positive results.

WHAT IS LASER ACUPUNCTURE?

Laser Acupuncture is a form of Laser Therapy that treats the site of injury and/or pain as well as whole body.

LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Laser acupuncture is an important field of study within photobiology.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) USA defined LASER ACUPUNCTURE as: the use of low-level laser beam (also known as Cold Laser, because they do not produce heat) instead of an ACUPUNCTURE NEEDLE to stimulate an acupuncture point. Hot lasers are used in surgery

WHAT IS THE MECHANISM OF LASER THERAPY?

Laser Therapy restores health by injecting photons of visible and/or invisible laser light deep into the body tissue. Tissue contains protein strands called cytochromes and chromosphores found in the mitochondria (the cell organelle) that absorb laser light energy and transform it into chemical energy for the cell. This chemical energy is utilized by the body tissue in turn significantly accelerates the healing process and reduces pain naturally.

HOW LONG HAS BEEN THE LASER THERAPY IN USE?

Laboratory experiments started in 1950’s; however, medical use began in 1960’s in over two dozen countries. In the 1970s serious research began both in Russia and in the USA. By the 1980s, due to numerous positive reports, laser therapy started to gain recognition as an effective method of stimulating acupuncture points without the use of needles.

The LLLT equipments are approved by the EU(European Union), FDA and Health Canada. The kind of laser beam used for Laser Therapy/Laser Acupuncture is much different than the lasers employed in dentistry, surgical procedures, cosmetic surgeries and hair removal.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE ADVANTAGES OF LASER ACUPUNCTURE?

WHAT ARE THE BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF LASER ACUPUNCTURE THERAPY?

Analgesic and anti-inflammatory– It mitigates pain and reduces inflammation of joints.
Vasodilation – Laser encourages temporary vasodilation (dilates the blood vessels and increases in blood flow to damaged tissues)
Accelerates wound healing – Laser light stimulates fibroblast development and accelerates collagen synthesis in damaged tissue.
Nerve function regeneration –Nerve function recovery in damaged tissue is slower than usual and can result in numbness (no feeling). Laser therapy accelerates the process of nerve cell reconnection and can bring the insensitive area back to life.
Faster cell growth – Laser speed ups cellular reproduction and growth.
Reduces scar formation – Laser therapy reduces the formation of scar tissue following tissue damage from: cuts, scratches, burns or post-surgery.
